home decor dreaming

is biting me like a bad bug lately!!!
i wish i could win gift cards to anthro, UO, PB... just to name a few.

first, i started to drool over this bedding ensemble.
then, i was just casually perusing and my heart about stopped beating when i saw this!
i mean, I LOVE that it is called a fainting sofa!!!
aren't there just days that we all need one of these??!!
{and the above 2 items would really complement one another, don't you think!!!}

alas...then, reality hits me. $$$$$
back to the real world.

i dream of scrapbook supplies, cameras, and home decor.
hubby dreams of homes, motorcycles, bicycles and other manly things.

so, here is to dreams!!!
dreaming them for the sake of dreaming them whether they come true or not. :)

digital tricks

ever wonder how someone does something?
of course!
so i trotted on over to 2 Peas.
refreshed my mind on how to do this.
and then saw this tutorial that is easy-peasy.
and created this simple but lovely image.
{click on it to make it larger--much more lovely}

my PS skills have come a loooooong way, baby! ;)
this would have totally intimidated me back in the day.
but then being on the computer too long makes my eyes all crazy! LOL!
some things still do, but i am much calmer about it now.

so...................
gonna go exercise.
clean house.
figure out what to have for dinner.
possibly wash my car and
then figure out whether i should take a shower or not today! ha!

i have been cooking ribs...
cleaning my house...
making cute little zipper pouches like these
{ with sturdy interfacing now}
having meetings...
not doing my homework like i should for Wilna's class...
but i DO have all of the downloads so i can go back later...
trying to make a decision about a camera...
( i am not hasty, yet, at the same time impatient)
editing photos b/c i am working on building a portfolio to
show people who might be interested...
so an impromptu photo shoot ensued with my oldest.

we were looking for a good place to shoot, and most of these shots were taken in
the stairwell outside leading to my basement! go figure!
we thought it lent to the urban decay look we were going for :D

CAUTION! busy week ahead

i am sitting here a little anxious about the week ahead.
so much to do.

first, i will be working on a mosaic @ church.
you scrapbook, and people think you are artsy???
what is up with that?!
actually, it is fun. looking forward to it.

then, signed up for Wilna's class @ SiS.
and now i am feeling like, "What was I thinking?!"
6 projects to make/ complete in 2 weeks.
trying to calm down on that one.
obviously, NO scrapbooking to call my own will get done this week.

also, needing to sew a lil special something by the end of the week.
not efficient enough yet just to whip something out.
i. need. time.
i am just not there yet with my sewing.
even when it is something little.

also all of my kids have colds. niiiiiiiiice.
you know, sore throat, stuffed up noses, my head is gonna explode colds.
trying not to get the germs, esp not this week.
Please, Lord, NOT this week!!!!

in good news.
one of my photos was accepted to be pubbed in
Stampington's Life Images magazine for Autumn 2008
i got my issues this past weekend. i have known since July...i am a good secret keeper!!!
this is the cover of that issue. go getcha one!!!
this is my first pub EVER for anything!!
my scrappy stuff always gets rejected, so i don't bother anymore.
but this was my first sub for the pub (ha ha ha) and i was accepted.
super excited!!!
here is the pic that was chosen.

my time will probably be sparse here this week.
but i will try really hard to post a pic of me
with the mag. :D ~cheese~
only bummer...they spelled my last name wrong :( always happens.

oh, yes, let me introduce the latest addition to our house!
meet Sabrina!! ( my oldest dd says i have a habit of naming things, but not true, only 2 things have i named, my dear)
she is quite lovely and exotic, don't you think?
all evidence of how scrapbooking/art/whatever you want to call it will
eventually influence the way you and I dress and decorate our homes. :)
going along well with the color scheme in my front room of yellow, green and brown--
just the right shades, you know.
and this week i will eventually have new curtains and a lamp shade from here thanks to a recent post from her on her lamp shade. thank you mandi!!
