hello frustration

why, you say, would this lovely, colorful LO of my children frustrate me???
b/c it took sooo long and, for me, the devil really is in the details!!!!
i normally rip a LO out in 15-30 minutes max. i like it like that.
and when i am forced to be patient, to think, to place,
to....... take......... my........ time........
i feel this little bit of angst building up in me.
{along with my children saying, "MOM!....mom!....Mooooooom!!!"....and i respond,"hold on! just wait a minute!"}
but there is a lesson to learned here, right?
*that i (and they) need to be more patient
*that i don't always get my way (nor do they...heh, heh)
*that details can be a good thing
*and that my friends and children still love me in spite of myself

oh, yes, we had to say good-bye to Cloris last night. :D :D :D

thank you

Carrie Ann Inaba!!!!
She said to Cloris Leachman last night what should have been said a looooong time ago!!!
I know that Cloris is cute and funny and she is 82 for Pete's sake, but COME ON!!!!
(and if you don't watch Dancing with the Stars, check back in a few days for something else, otherwise, proceed)
I must say that the group hip-hop dance was thoroughly entertaining!!!! :D
Boy, did it take me back and make me wanna get up and bust my own groove, but my
teenager would have fled the room, even though she knows i got the moves!
As much as I watched Solid Gold and imagined being a dancer...I think I could have been a Fly Girl on In Living Color as well!!! seriously....LOL!
obviously, some people had IT (the hip-hop groove thang) and others well.....Susan Lucci should stick to acting!
I think I will be able to enjoy the show after she and Cloris leave. I am just sayin.....
I love watching Lance Bass's partner, Lacey, dance. She is just incredible!!
If you watched, who are your favorites??

And ,wow, it is COLD today. 40 degrees with a chance of our first flurry to fall!!!
i kinda like it, gives me a chance to get some sweaters out, layer, maybe buy a new grey sweater that i have been wanting!!! no sweater in particular, i have just been wanting a new grey one!
i like those Ugg type boots, kinda, but i am too short for it. it is like they cut me in half.
ok, nuff rambling.
good day.
stay warm.
dance if you hafta.

and scrappy goodness coming your way soon, hopefully!!!

and Jill, i am now determined to bake your wonderful banana bread!!!!
(yours, Martha's...whatever)

sorry, not even a pic today.

ttfn.

but this is!

{see post below for details}

**************************************************************************************
did i come through or did i come through?
as much as i love doing digi b/c it is fast and wonderful,
i cannot stay away from paper and glue scrapbooking!
and in the spirit of fall, i included my sweet lil pumpkin treat jar--minus treats @ the time, but
full of Super Bubble bubble gum now!
and if you have a cold, i even have a box of tissues for you in the back! LOL!
ah-choo!  ;)
ttfn!

~and, yes, the photo is supposed to be blurry--it isn't your eyes.
it was one of those outtake moments that i decided to scrap for FUN!  :D

it's not paper and glue

but it is still scrapbooking.
i got the design idea from TV...TLC, i believe, for a show line-up.
i liked the idea of simple b&w photos on a plain background.
then i fancied it up a bit. =]

maybe paper and glue next time ;)

changing pace...

Dancing with the Stars last night...
not real happy that Toni Braxton got eliminated.
she is much better, IMHO, than Cloris Leachman or Susan Lucci.
of course, Cloris just gets the WOW factor vote for being cheeky and 82. ;O)
Susan, a bigger fan base i guess, idk.
but i agreed with the judges that it was like they(Susan and partner) were dancing in a glass case, she is always so stiff.
oh well, life goes on.
Brooke Burke is the clear favorite, but i wonder if the winner will
end up being a surprise! hmmm....
and Cody Linley he is just....goooooofy!
but my girls get a kick out of him. LOL!

gotta run.

i think i need to

scrap, that is.
something seems appealing and relaxing about it--
almost like it is something that needs to be done, and
i wouldn't even have to really think about it--
JUST DO IT, ya know? ;)

so, maybe in a day a two i will conjure something up.
for the fun of it...no challenge...just fun stuff.
until then, i will share a picture of my middle dd...
who doesn't get in front of the camera often, but
when she does her eyes light the frame up.

go see her here, too!
have a blessed, God-filled week everyone!

explanation

ok, update.
confession.
cat out of the bag.
dude.
i haven't been here much b/c i have been
developing this over the weeks.
(it is like a treasure hunt, these links, huh?)
sorry, girls, i am busted!!!!
the fall has been busy.
and i am excited!
the scrap world, for now, is on hold.
but how about a picture?! :D

reality

the reality of life has been so busy that things like
blogging, scrapbooking, being on the computer to chill and chat
have taken a backseat.
not just a car backseat...no, i am talking way back in the back of a bus
backseat!!! LOL! you normally get in trouble there, ya know! ;)
but i have been involved in other happy distractions of life and getting
tired doing it.
i don't stay up late and i am NOT a morning person.
so the way i see it, i have a few good hours in the day and then i am shot! :O)
seriously, from now until about March we will have our jet-powered skates on going
from thing to thing to thing, etc, etc...
now, i realize that as soon as i type this and proclaim that my presence here will be
scant, at the most, i will get an unsuspecting urge to blog and scrap and the like; therefore, blowing this entire post!
but i am still here, still alive. yay. ;)

~giggle~
she makes me smile and it isn't hard for her to do!!!
have a great week!
be back who knows???? ;)

living daily...and listening...and giving...

i have recently been reading over a book
called, "Living God's Love" by Gary Holloway and Earl Lavender.
*shock* you say. i know b/c i normally don't read! ha ha.
i got to chapter 4--Listening to our Beloved {God}
there was a section titled "hearing God through others" i began
thinking of all of the people God has spoken through in my life.
then this next part really kept resonating through my head....

"Friends are a wonderful gift from God. Everyone wants to have friends and to be a friend. Indeed, in our society we may suffer from 'friend inflation', in that we have so many people we call friends that we have devalued friendship. When everyone is your friend, no one truly is."

"But there are those we can call spiritual friends. Spiritual friendship is one that does
not seek to have our needs fulfilled in friendship, but rather proclaims the reign
of God over all....they can speak the tough words of God to us, words we would not hear
if they came from those who did not love us."

And it made me really thankful for people like that in my life.
Friends who have given it to me straight, who haven't enabled me to
have a pity party for myself, but instead built me up while encouraging to examine myself
at the same time. Saved me at times from my own thoughts or suppositions.
God sent them, without a doubt, at just the right time.
But it also made me think, "How am I blessing others?"

So, what does this all mean?
I would urge you, if you have people like that in your life, thank them!
Tell them! You could send a quick e-mail.
But how about a handwritten note, handmade card?
Go out for coffee, lunch.
Why go another day and NOT tell someone that they are a God-given gift to you?
smiles. :)
and have a blessed day.
