being in the moment

i've been around...
doing a little of this...

reminiscing about the littleness of my girls, going through old already printed out photos and smiling :)
smiling a lot :)
wondering where the time went.
it's just that time of year for me--when my oldest is a Senior and graduating high school.

so, i guess i have been trying to live in the moment more. which means putting more things on the backburner more. the things that don't matter quite as much as being in the moment--laughing and smiling and living with the people you love the most.

i have been continually learning more to trust and fear less. it's hard. i am not going to lie.
but then, i look at this...
and i remember that Life IS good. too good to pass up. too good let it pass me by while i am distracted doing other things.
so, i am taking it in.
using my iPhone A TON. to capture daily little moments. it's so much FUN!

i even broke out the old SLR to take a SP since i have been seriously slacking in the 52 week project
dept!!! they are quite a forgiving group, though ;)

people, this is an example of getting the lighting right. catchlights in the eyes. skin illuminated to erase most flaws. minimal processing to get it ready for web. {light=natural window light}
i confess to not being happy with many SP's because I KNOW my flaws (and you can't see them here). just like all women do, right?
but, for some reason, i am allowing my self to be at peace with this one.

letting go. moving on. being and living in the moment. :)

my life in iPhone photos| happy st. patty's day

this post has NOTHING to do with St. Patty's day ( i just realized that it was)
craziness has prevailed over the past couple of weeks.
some good crazy=blessings.
some bad crazy=sickness and other stuff

i have felt tired and overwhelmed and not really in the blogging mood.
BUT i knew i could do another installment of my life in iPhone photos.
quick and easy. i love how i can upload my photos to iPhoto, they are sized
appropriately and i can plug them into a quick post!

bringing a little bit of Spring indoors and testing out a new lablemaker app

our crazy dogs

 sickness in the house

mr. mcsteamy has been my BFF the past few days ;)

lots of randoms....

hello child who is pretty much a copy of her Daddy [though she denies it!]

a windy and sunny day made for a new profile pic!

quick and easy crafting to hold my thread and have straight pins on hand

a touch of Spring to the bedroom! right now i LOVE yellow and grey! yellow is a happy color to me :)
i just need a picture or print or ledge to put above the bed.

and in case you didn't know...

is it just me or am i the only one that can change a roll of toilet paper?!?!?!?!
it's good to know that my Bachelor's in Nursing degree is coming in handy! ;)

hope the sun is shining wherever you are today!
in spite of being sick, i think i am going to have to go on a little walk just to enjoy it!
for tomorrow, it ends.

my week of daily life

one of my favorite bloggers/scrappers, Stephanie, always does such a great job of blogging the
daily of her life using her iPhone pics. i just. LOVE it.
so, i decided that i need to start doing that more. blogging and using daily life pics.

first installment on this beautiful, sunny friday of march 4, 2011.

going down memory lane...

holy moly, i can't get over the cuteness. i MISS this. bad.
one more, just because...

shooooeeessss...
 red Saucony Jazz from Zappos!
my new hot pink and black Saucony running shoes from my local running store.

buying 2 pair of Saucony's in one week. not planned. love them both. i could fill my closet up with athletic/tennis shoes instead of stilletos any day. that's just me.

hello, sunshine! i've missed you, friend! :)

doing a heel stretch and holding your phone AND actually capturing it? pure skill! ;)
that's my story and i'm sticking to it!

lots of time watching the kids jump on the trampoline...fyi...sometimes i inadvertently use treadmill instead of trampoline. so, i don't let my kids jump on the treadmill...just so you know!

nothing says happy like this right now. :)

my sweet girl wanting to sew and making 2 pilllowcases in no time. wonder if this
is what Martha Stewart was doing at the age of 10?

a little bit of Spring on the front door to encourage the weather!

Basketball playoffs! 1st Sectional Champs! Now Region 2 Champs! On to the State Playoffs! Wheeee!

that's the life of this runnin', scrappin', picture takin', crafty momma this week!

have a great weekend all! xoxo

YOU can do it!

i think she is actually talking to me...
i came across this blog post and thought, "she wrote this just for me!"
the very first point is what hit me right away:

"1. You can do it! Barring medical problems or serious physical injury, anyone can do a 1/2 marathon. Even if you can barely run down the street right now, you could be ready to run 13.1 miles in 6 months….if you wanted to.  If you are already running up to 3 miles now, you could be ready in less than 4 months…if you wanted to.  Not saying it wouldn’t take hard work.  It would. But you could do it. So stop saying you could never do it.  You may not want to do it, but you could."

2011 is my year to really take running seriously--beyond fitness.
*increase my mileage base
*and, yes, do a race
*1st a local 5K or 2
***ultimately*** this race is catching my eye.

granted, i am the QUEEN of talking myself out of a new adventure.
i mean, heck, look at my list of "things" to deter:

-the race it not close for me. it would require a long drive or plane ride.
-it is in the middle of soccer season for my girls.
-i would be doing it alone {i mean, with no one i know} of course, there would be other runners just like me trying to accomplish a goal.
-and i am afraid...of all the "what if's" swirling around in my brain

so, really, what is stopping me from actually doing this???
oh, yeah, that' right...ME!

contemplating seriously contemplating diving in with both feet and signing up for this sucker!
if not now, then when? right?!

side note: if you are into running/fitness, are a mother trying to make it work, & have a crafty side...
Carrie's blog would be one you would surely enjoy! i mean, c'mon!
this mama makes stuff :)

and this recipe she posted for shrimp ceviche...YUM!
