december friday

i have been lagging behind a bit.
just haven't been able to keep up with taking
photos of my december daily.
i am still taking photos. collecting bits. making memories.
creating pages.
just not able to get the ready-to-share-with-everyone thing done.
BUT...
i have been a little fanatical about fonts recently ;)
some of my favorite sites are da font & font squirrel--these are FREE download sites.
my fonts is a site where you would pay for a specific font.
seems like i have been downloading new fonts like crazy over the past few weeks.

*the tall and skinny font is called Strangelove and can be purchased at myfonts.com
*the other 2 fonts i used in this pic are Learning Curve Pro (cursive) and Blackout {2AM}--both
downloaded for free from fontsquirrel.com

i have gotten to a point when i see a font that i am obsessed with LOVE i will search until i find it! ha!
so if you like any of the fonts here, your search should be pretty easy. :)

the above pic was a result of me forgetting to put the flour shield on my mixer *ahem* ...
it was like slowww moootionnn disaster. so sometimes life gets a little crazy and you get
a good picture out of it. ;)

December Daily | day 12 | Christmas cards

after a slow motion "snow" disaster in my kitchen, i am left with little time
to get this day up and on the blog.
so, here we go...

i had the white lights out for another project that didn't go so well, so i decided to play around with
them in photographing day 12. kinda adds some fun!!

and this is kinda-sorta the finished card. i had to do some tweaking to it overall, due to a
design {my own} flaw.

in the end, it works. and i am happy with them. love my beautiful family!! <3 :)

December Daily | day 8 | around the house

i've been excited for this day of my December Daily for quite some time!!
i will start with my foundation page :)

i saw this tutorial over at Tina's blog. twine + adhesive = uber cool possibilities for lettering!

i made the LOVE tag first, then did a direct lift of her FA LA LA for my day 8 page!!
i loved every bit of what she created. however, i did not have any kraft graph paper.
so, i took my Signo gel pen, some kraft paper, my ruler, and proceeded to make my own :)
i made it work.
it makes perfect sense that i would use this page to catch little things (decor) around the house during
the Christmas holiday.

i added an embellishment pocket page to divide the layout.

i was happy that i could incorporate my LOVE tag into the process as well.

December Daily | day 7 | hello snow

might as well post day 7.
2 posts in one day. wow.

hybrid approach for this day. i have other pics that go along with this...like our dogs licking the snow and getting one of them mid-lick. ha! but i thought i would show the gist of the layout.
hot cocoa + snow...they just go together! :) happy

my next 2 days are planned days. gives me a sense of relief. should come together quite nicely.

i am a little behind on posting, but i have come to decide that i probably
won't post every single day/layout.
i have been a little under the weather lately...not feeling quite up to keeping up
in the blogging world. if you follow me on Instagram, my pictures and layouts will
most always make an appearance there.
i promise to share a picture or 2 here along the way :)

days 5 & 6 shared via instagram.

yesterday, we had our first "official" snow...the kind that actually stayed and accumulated 4-5" out
where we live. so, day 7 is done. i will give you a hint what it might look like...
just haven't uploaded yet.

after seeing this post by Liz Tamanaha over at Paisless Press i knew i needed to write some ideas

for my December Daily down!

for me it was a total light bulb "duh!" moment!!

i am just thankful making a list came my way :)

 i also thought...maybe...someone else could use some ideas as well.
i have to admit that having a child with a December birthday is both bad and good.
bad.... b/c mixing it in with Christmas = a whole bunch of crazy!!!
good... b/c it gives me lots of documentation opportunities :D

my informal list of ideas.{ days with numbers are days that i am intentionally documenting.}

note: i made this list in Pages then imported it to PS. hence, being able to use a cool font and make it look like it belongs in the body of my post!

hello December 1 | December Daily 2011

I can only imagine there are hundreds if not thousands of December daily posts going up today!
I can't lie, I am totally excited to start this year's album!!!

Also, we have started the Elf on the Shelf at our house! My kids are older, but we decided that
we needed to bring some fun and magic back in the house!! ;)

So, I introduce our elf, Theo! He's a cheeky little dude--I like him! ;)

He was pretty slick last night (or whenever he does his thing) by finding the old Polly Pockets in storage!!

My first December daily page will most definitely be about Theo.
I love to see the looks on the girls' faces in the morning when they realize the mischief he gets into!
I am trying to document each day of mischief with my iPhone and instagram.
I hope to put together a "Theo 2011" album :)
